Day 7 - Loches to Azay-le-Rideau
Our third day on the Château Explorer route is notable for the absence of château, with the exception of those at our start and destination. The ride meanders back and forth across the Indre River through a countryside of wheat fields and water wheels that are said to be little changed since described by Balzac over a century ago.
A relatively short and very flat ride leaves plenty of time to linger in Loches before setting off and to explore Azay-le-Rideau on arrival.

Set on cobbled streets in the heart of Azay-le-Rideau, the Hotel de Biencourt, was a lovely overnight stop.
